Origins
The beginnings of the network
The Living Ethics International Network was established in 2023 as the outcome of a special international co-development workshop, hosted at the Montreal Clinical Research Institute (Institut de recherches cliniques de Montréal – IRCM). This group of 24 bioethicists, medical educators, social science researchers, healthcare professionals, and patient advocates came together out of a shared desire to pursue exchanges and discussions to further develop a living ethical stance in theory and practice.
The aims of this network are to

Bring together
individuals from across the globe, academics and non-academics, who are inspired by the living ethics stance and work in accordance with its commitments.
Promote and diffuse
activities, resources, and initiatives inspired by the living ethics stance.
Create a community
of practice around the concept and practices of living ethics.
